In this day and age, and after daily review of so many reports that I draw near to surmise nearly every institution in what we used to know as America is now led by corruption (not criminality, but a corrupted spirit), I would take such an accusation, at face value, as an unintended complement.
The use of the term 'fringe' in this context is similar to how a rapper references every friend as a 'cousin', a 'brother', or a 'b*tch'. Its the type of language used by a b*tch to describe another 'b*tch', thinking the label is a complement, but in this case, thinking 'fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site', is an insult in the eyes of the liberal secularist, the term is actually a complement in the eyes of a contrite, humble, believer who respects righteousness and justice from God's perspective, rather than our personal perspective independent of Him.
Well said, sir or ma’am. We are to be in the world but not of it. That right there makes us “fringe” these days.
