Did the guy who invented the wheel go to automotive design school? How about the guy (or woman!) who figured out fire? What about the bow and arrow, the atlatl, the boomerang? Did they attend the Stone Age West Point Academy? Necessity is the mother of invention, not education or what passes for it

No doubt that as Thomas Edison said genius is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration, but science is a gradual process in which innovation is integrating and refining the works of those who came before. As Isaac Newton said; Scientific advancement is "standing on the shoulders of giants".

So, again, would you consider open heart surgery performed by an auto mechanic or fly in an aircraft designed and built by high school drop outs?
