The mistake they makes is the same thing that Biblical literalists and Protestant fundamentalists make: they believe that science and faith are intrinsically opposed to each other and can never, ever be reconciled.

You need to stop reading things like talkorigins and DC talking points.

Show me one group that thinks that the entire Bible be read literally without recognizing poetry, song, parable, etc. I've challenged many an evolutionist with that and not ONE has ever been able to support that lie.

You also need to demonstrate that any YECers believe that science and faith are intrinsically opposed to each other. Links and sources would be nice.

People think that YECs are like that because of the lies that are spread about them in an effort to discredit belief in creation.

metmom, I have seen what YEC’rs teach first-hand, over and over, since childhood, because I was raised in the Bible Belt surrounded by people who believe it. My contact with DC only came about because of my participation here as an adult. The kind folks on DC have no power to brainwash me against YEC’rs. The actions and words of YEC’rs stand for themselves/

I have to ask that if you understand that the Bible is full of allegory, metaphor and parable, how do you come to the conclusion that something so obviously not supportable by the empirical evidence isn’t one of those things?

RoadGumby, Natural Law’s post 2,183 is my answer to that.
