Why would any sane person spend over a million dollars to hide something they knew would not harm them? If he's spent that much, it's been to respond to all these cases being filed against him, many of which would go ahead regardless of whether he released his birth certificate. The Chrysler case, for example, has nothing to do with Obama being born outside the country and instead focuses on his dual citizenship.
In other words, Obama could release his birth certificate today, and he would still spend money on legal fees responding to challenges to his eligibility.
