From what I read the grand mufti leaned towards the nazis as did the saudi royal family. When Hitler was nearly defeated then they came over. The Indians were part of the British Empire at that time so yes they did fight with the allies. In the Balkans the Serbs (orthodox Christians) were the main opposition to Hitler and I believe they cost the Germans a panzer division.
I am aware many Muslims favored the Axis. Given the fact that their countries were occupied by the Allies, looking for friends among their enemies’ enemies is not particularly surprising.
Look at our own history of allying with the French, during our Revolution, and the Soviets.
I was attempting to point out that saying “Muslims were the friends of the Nazis” is at best incomplete.
As I’m sure you know, a great many Christians, including the fanatical Catholics of Croatia and Spain, were rabid supporters of the Nazis. So should we say “Christians supported the Nazis?”
