Has to be one of the best thought-out and reasoned arguments made so far (that I am aware of). It makes TOO much sense for the NCAA dictatorship to accept. Seems that in the end, such an arrangement would actually mean MORE money to the schools and to the NCAA, would lend a massive amount of credibility to a system that almost can’t help but have a big “?” next to every single crowned “champion”.

What’s even more humiliating (or at least, should be), the lower divisions have a playoff system that works perfectly. A Champion wins on the field, not via PR... in the same sport that DIV I-A can’t figure out!

Despite what you might have heard the purpose of college is not to train professional athletes. The BCS isn't perfect but it's better than what preceded it which was the AP and the UPI polls. The BCS was an attempt to improve on that. It's not a conspiracy.
College Football at the Division 1A level doesn't lend itself to a playoff system and the colleges DO NOT AND WILL NOT extend the season any longer than it already is. I have a friend who is an assistant athletic director at a Division 1A school and the college presidents and boards of trustees WILL NOT extend the football season. That's what the NFL is for.
