They should also be expecting some wrongful death civil suits coming their way.
Umm . . . shouldn't that read irresponsible? Don't mind my nitpicking - but it's a pet peeve of mine that the concept of unity of responsibility and authority is so embedded in our language that people who want authority claim to want "responsibility." Nobody wants responsibility, really - tho plenty of people want to have authority. Nobody should be given authority without responsibility - but that is the problem being addressed when we point out that those who had the the authority to punish people (at least, people who weren't on a suicide mission and therefore were outside of the reach of ordinary punishment) for having guns on campus exercised that authority in a way which facilitated the killing spree. The people with the authority pleased themselves but are only now, and only rhetorically, being held responsible for the results - as opposed to the good intentions - of their use of their authority.VA Tech dirtbags should be charged with multible counts including being accessories to murder and prosecuted accordingly.
. . . not that anyone would hold their breath waiting for that to happen . . .They should also be expecting some wrongful death civil suits coming their way.
Now that comes closer to being a possiblity . . . IMHO conservatives should be on the lookout for ways to sue "liberals" for their fecklessness.
