Coakley (D) & Brown (R) win primary in Tuesday's election forTed Kennedy's US Senate seat.

In Tuesday's primary election, Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley swept the 4-person Democratic primary with 47% and State Senator Scott Brown swept the Republican primary with 89%. It attracted very low turnout -- less than 20% state-wide. The general election is in six weeks, on January 19.

Herald Columnist Howie Carr gave probably the most interesting analysis of the campaign.

There could not be more of a difference between these two candidates. Martha Coakley has a long record of extreme, aggressive left-wing anti-family crusading, and general lap-dog water-carrying for the Democratic establishment. Scott Brown is a fiscal and (reasonably) social conservative who is willing to fight against the Obama health-care fiasco.

My husband says most MA voters would vote for Charles Manson if he had a (D) by his name! I fear that is a sad but true fact!

He’s right!I have tried to reason with some people who ARE otherwise conservative-leaning,(ie;they’re against gay “marriage”,they’re anti-abortion,anti-illegal immigrant),but when it comes time to vote, they can’t get over that “democrats are for the working man!” way of thinking, and they pull the lever for whatever has a (D) by its name.(and then watch as their taxes keep going up and up while their jobs vanish....but that’s all “Bush’s fault!”,of course!)

My son says, “Pop, if you don’t ask you don’t get”. He’s right, I taught him well!!! I hear and read all you Freepers and Tea Baggers moaning about the Republican Party. Yes, the Pubbies are whimps from A-Z, but so are you folks. I say, fight for every seat, even the tough ones!!! This is not ordinary politics, folks!!! This is political war, a war to fight for our very existance and freedom. We need to go after every Democrat, Republican, Conservative Independent vote, etc. in the state of MA. Defeating Coakley would be a shot heard round the world, and it would change the current political landscape immediately. RNC, Michael Steele, get in there and kick butt big time!!!! Spend the money, now RNC!!! Freepers jump on Rush, Hannity, Levin, Ingraham, Palin, etc. to get with the program!!!! You guys on this site talk the talk okay, but now is the time to walk the walk with a driving, unending task to take Scott Brown to victory!!! This election is important, and will be a “game changer” if Scott Brown wins!!!!!!

True and I would go further.

A mass murderer with a D after their name would beat Jesus Christ with a R after their name especially because Christ believes in saving babies and killing babies is the religion of the left.

The Kennedy story is a classic, I will use it. It is amazing that libs do not see their own hypocrisy and Kennedy was the poster child for being born with the silver spoon. And then of course we have the American Gigolo John Kerry.

I will keep Massachusetts in my prayers. I lived in Boston late70s-early80s. It would be wonderful to see the State come to it’s senses.

Thanks for the prayers. I went out of my way to vote yesterday. We conservatives are certainly hoping and praying that Scott Brown wins in January. Brown may not be the best, but he's better than the rest.
