Back in my Viet Nma days we used to call the Cav the Marine Corps rescue division.

25th Division guy myself.

Yeah, I heard something about Cav going to “rescue” the Marines at Khe Sahn only to have to meet them on the road, ‘cause they couldn’t break through to the Combat Base... But it was sporting of them to come visit! (I got there in ‘69, so I missed the big fracas. Was on the East Coast at the time, at New River MCAF.)
