I can tell you with almost 100% certainty what is going to happen.

It will pass with the “nuclear option” of only 51 needed under reconciliation.

That way, they dont need all the Blue Dog votes who would suffer backlash if passed.

Anyone disagree?

If it were not for the fact that it would be near impossible to salvage our Constitutional form of government once they push this through, I’d actually HOPE for them to use the nuclear option.

This is an awful piece of legislation that is going to serve to rally Americans against them in the years to come and the fact that they used the nuclear option to bypass legitimate debate on the matter would make them look worse than they would otherwise.

Sadly, the real world doesn’t work as it should on paper so I’m actually rather nervous they might try something arrogant and ill-advised as that. I think, however, with the inclusion of abortion in the bill we might have a chance of ramping up public pressure against the Senate if we focus on the fact that this isn’t the “Health Care for Everybody Bill” - it’s the “Free Abortions for Everybody Bill.”

I have to think that when we paint the matter in those terms that there are many in the public who might reconsider their support for this measure.
