Decade of 2000s was warmest ever, scientists say

It dawned with the warmest winter on record in the United States. And when the sun sets this New Year's Eve, the decade of the 2000s will end as the warmest ever on global temperature charts.

Warmer still, scientists say, lies ahead.

Through 10 years of global boom and bust, of breakneck change around the planet, of terrorism, war and division, all people everywhere under that warming sun faced one threat together: the buildup of greenhouse gases, the rise in temperatures, the danger of a shifting climate, of drought, weather extremes and encroaching seas, of untold damage to the world humanity has created for itself over millennia.

...

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon told them they had "a powerful opportunity to get on the right side of history" at a year-ending climate conference in Copenhagen.

Once again, however, disunity might keep the world's nations on this side of making historic decisions.

I believe that I heard that the founder of Greenpeace was even forced out by the GreenReds.

The founder of the Weather Channel also speaks out against the Global Warming Scare. It is a fraudulent hysteria. Yet we are in “denial” if we challenge the scientific research.

KGB files show that there was a Soviet presence in America that served the interests of Stalin’s USSR but today we are told that it was nothing but a “Red Scare” and “hysteria”. I’ll point out that Orwell’s 1984 and Animal Farm were also products that came out of the so-called “Red Scare”. And they are still (mis)quoted today.

I don’t know if it IS the warmest decade. But mathematically, it can be the warmest even though it’s been cooling for 10 years, because you would be comparing it to other decades. If the 90s were cool up until the last couple of years, and then the temperature shot up, this decade could be warmer even though no year is warmer than the two hottest years of the 90s.

Of course, in real life the warmth is due to temperature sensors being located in heat sinks that are artificially getting hotter.

The State Department took such offense at the assertion that there were some Communist sympathizers within the State Department and our military. Any doubts now?

It is that same political correctness that allowed Nadil Hasan to stage his attack at Ft. Hood. While he set off several red flags, it would be wrong to question his patriotism to America.

Ah, I get it — the Decade of the 2000s was the warmest decade of the 2000s ever.

I don’t think we disagree, do we? I’m just more open minded to potential risks of CO2. I suspect that 20 years from now, we’ll all be wondering what all the fuss was about.

"The installation is a part of an initiative to put focus on the consequences of global warming."

I reckon those emaciated figures represent what happens when the elites have bled the people of their energy and earnings.

Nope - no disagreement, just putting some numbers to the “low amounts of CO2” that you mentioned.

Yep. An image of sheep or lemmings might be better, but I guess for a financial book he had to put the bull on there.

Outside of the tulip bubble, very little of it is about financial madness. Witch trials, the Children's Crusades, that sort of thing mostly. This is actually more appropriate:

Global Warming will probably wind up next to witch trials on the inventory of once powerful and destructive social influences.

“Scientists” my ass. These fools have shown to be untrustworthy. They embarrass science and the scientific method. Political ideologues! Worthless saps! Hacks! If they didn’t have tenure they’d be begging on the street.”

There should have been an avalanche of criticism of this by scientists worldwide, but there`s barely been a whisper, which leads me to believe scientific fraud is far more rampant than these e-mails suggest, and that scientific fraud is perfectly acceptable,,,even to be admired. It`s time to give “scientists” the same respect given to used car salseman and shyster lawyers.

Are they growing grapes in Britain?

As it happens, yes. The revival of English winemaking began in the 1950s and has been steadily improving in quality and quantity. In particular the methode champenoise sparkling whites have been winning international awards. I have three successful vineyards within 15 miles of where I live in Devon. See for instance
