Nope I’m not. I’m also smart enough to know that there isn’t an easy answer and war is the worst one.
“As a matter of fact I do.”
Besides a year in the bars at Yongsan?

“On what basis do you contend that MILLIONS would die?”
Based on the stores of artillery the North has at the border and in range of Seoul.
Based on the stores of chemical weapons the North has.
Based on the stores of biological weapons the North has.
I still vividly recall being told the North was massing at the border and might come across. And to expect 75% casualties if they did. That casualty rate was for military who has the proper gear.

With that attitude, we would all be speaking German or Japanese had you been in charge in the 1940's.
As a matter of fact I do.

Yep, I figured you had the booze and whores there covered.

The same dire predictions were made regarding Saddam's army in the first Gulf War, and the Iraqi army folded up like a cheap accordion. You think the North Korean military is going to fare better than that?
Those silly bastards would be surrendering to media news crews just like the Iraqis did.

“So you believe that a surgical strike on North Korea will lead to an all out, unrestricted, thermonuclear war?”
I believe the dozens of South Koreans I’ve spoken with that believe any attack would lead to a full scale war.
Koreans would rather die than lose face especially on a global level. Attacking Kim is an attack on the military. An attack would unite them and they would go down fighting rather than bow in submission.
But you’d rather accept the significant risk that millions would die than allow Kim to thumb his nose at the US. Sure glad you aren’t making any kind of policy.

Time to step out of the 6th grade. Advocating a war when there is little threat to the US is asinine.
I’m done with ya, its obvious you don’t understand the area.

Here, read up on just how bad things are in the North (as of last month):

If Kim is stupid enough to start a war at this point, he'll get his ass handed to him, if not by the U.S., by the South Koreans.
Make book on that pal.

I understand that you would rather kiss Kim's ass and submit to perpetual blackmail and think it's a fine idea for the rest of the world.
What you don't understand is that there IS something worse than war.
It's called living on your knees, something I suspect you would be ok with.

You don't think those long range missiles Kim is working on are a potential threat to the U.S.?

The author makes it clear that FDR not only knew but enabled the attack. It is an excellent book.

“Those silly bastards would be surrendering to media news crews just like the Iraqis did.”
A NK submarine had an engine failure and washed up on a beach in South Korea. The Capt lined up 10 of his crew on the beach and shot them, then himself.
The two remaining crew members went running through the countryside killing anyone they came across. The Army was mobilized to hunt them down and kill them.
The NK crew could have surrendered and been richly rewarded. If they had surrendered their families would have all been sent to the camps. Not just wives and children, but cousins, grandparents, brothers, sisters, mom, and dad. So by committing suicide in a very public way they saved their family.
Comparing Iraqi’s to Koreans shows just how much you don’t understand.

How is he blackmailing the US?
“What you don’t understand is that there IS something worse than war.”
Sure there is. How is what is occurring now worse for the US than attacking the North and killing millions of people?

Sure they would be if he had them and if they worked. I’m talking about the very real threat to South Korea and Japan. Destruction of those two countries would have a severe impact on our economy.

but since the North Korean people would have a difficult time organizing in such a police state, their only other option would be to flee the country, therefore the NK leadership is taking this preemptive action. Let me guess...no Second Amendment right to bear arms in North Korea.

Let’s hope we’re right - for the sake of those poor souls! Both of these trash (Ceausescu and Jong Il) are mass murdering lunatics who deserve their in Hell!
That being said, as bad as Ceausescu was, I don’t recall the Romanian people resorting to cannabalism.
Just horrific.
