Internet shut-down in Iran ahead protests

thelastcrusade.org

Internet access in Tehran unavailable on Saturday, two days ahead of planned demonstrations in the Iranian capital.

Iranian President Ahmadinejad, citing a “crisis” has shut-down internet access in Iran. In a move that echoes the Democrat's bill S.773 (David Rockefeller), private-sector computers in Iran have been disconnected from the Internet.

According to AFP:

Sources close to Iran's technical services told AFP the cut was the result of "a decision by the authorities" rather than a technical breakdown. Telecommunications ministry officials were unavailable for comment.”

The internet, SMS text messages and at times even mobile phone connections have been cut or scrambled since Mr Ahmadinejad's contested re-election in June.

Saturday's disruption was the first such occurrence a full two days before planned protests.

Iranian opposition groups are preparing to hold fresh demonstrations on Monday. The elite Revolutionary Guards and other authorities have warned they will take tough action on any attempt by regime opponents to hijack an annual event to mount further protests against Mr Ahmadinejad.

That man has seriously scary eyes. They’re too close together and look deranged.

Well, we don’t have to go by his eyes to know he is deranged. Something about nuking Israel comes to mind....

and, fyi, what does eye position have to do with mental illness?? I only ask, because my eyes are rather close together... yet I don’t think I am deranged.

As Rush Limbaugh says, the victim is usually the last to know. Have you sought a second opinion?

Sorry, no offense intended. It’s just that there are times that some really vile criminals have eyes close together.

I wonder if something like this happens in the US, would those protests be with weapons?

If it ever gets so bad that the government in this country shuts down the Internet, we’re in a bad way.

Have you done or read a study linking face types to criminal behavior? Maybe you should post your pic and we can judge your looks against stupid stereotypes. (I was just taking this rather light hearted until your obnoxious “whatever...”)

Things would have to deteriorate a lot for that to happen.
Turning off the net would shut a large percentage of businesses down ...

FYI, on MY planet “whatever” means I’m done discussing it and whatever you want to think doesn’t matter to me.

So go try to start a fight with someone else.

Thank you.

Apparently the current resident of the White House has something in common with this nut case.

This wouldn’t be happening if we didn’t have a weakling in the White House.
We have betrayed the young people in Iran “yearning to breath free.”
As we are betraying freedom fighters in Afghanistan.
I often wonder what it’s like to be a world leader and die with the blood of millions on your hands because of selfish, evil decisions.
