The passenger manifest shows who is actually on the plane, not who is scheduled to be on it. If someone leaves the plane for any reason they must be removed from the manifest before takeoff. It is a legal document. If there would be an accident, the manifest would be used to identify the bodies and notify next of kin.
You would still have been on the manifest. The manifest is generated when you walk through the airbridge door. That’s what the scanner / person tearing off part of your boarding pass is for. The booking list in the computer may not match the manifest, but the manifest should always show exactly who is on the plane whether they were booked for it or not.

This current situation isn’t “nothing”.
4) Not a totally honest assessment from pc Snopes: http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/skyterror.asp — “false” for having been proved a dry run for assembling a bomb.
But something off was happening because reports from passengers, flight crew members, and air marshals CONFIRM that 13 “middle eastern men” passengers were “observed behaving ‘in a suspicious manner that aroused attention and concern’ ... ie, they changed seats, congregated in the aisle, arose when the fasten seat belt sign was turned on, and several of them spent excessive time in the lavatories, even carrying a large McDonalds bag in there.
In short, it was NOT normal behavior, it was behavior meant to bring concern and confusion to the other passengers.
WHAT I WANT TO KNOW (and yes, I guess I am shouting, this is SO stupid and, it would seem, avoidable) is WHY passengers like this are not TOLD to sit down?? Not to change seats? Only one at a time in the lavatory? Why aren’t these unruly passengers held accountable?

Tedd Petruna tells me he was indeed on the flight and, afterward, wrote a long report for the airline about what happened on the flight. He says hes shocked that AirTran is saying the TSA officials were never there, that the airline has the guts to flat out deny what happened on that flight and in the aftermath. There are plenty of records of his being on the flight and what happened, and hes considering suing AirTran for lying about it and defaming him. Petruna predicted hed be attacked for telling the truth about what happened on Flight 297, and he was right. But he told me that he never thought AirTran would lie and claim he wasnt on the flight.

Happens all the time, thirteen people are asked to get off a plane and then allowed to get back on two hours later.... No biggie.
