Not as pathetic as your ping list.

Ping to an article regarding a request from congressional representatives to see Obamas BC.
I'd change that to an article about a month old story that a a representative said a month ago that he "will" write a letter requesting a copy of Obama's birth certificate. So - it's been a month. Where's the letter?
I bet he can invoke executive privilege
No, don't think so. His BC has nothing to do with his actions as President. But, he gets letters, including letters from representatives all the time - asking him to decide on Afghanistan, asking him to condemn X or clarify Y. If it's s "just" a letter, it's not an "official request," and he doesn't have to do anything - just has he doesn't have to respond publicly to the many other letters written to him by various representatives.
If they wanted to see proof, they should have asked for it before certifying the electoral vote.
Right.
However, I dont think Cheney asked for or allowed objections as per the official certification process. I wonder if and how that would affect a ruling on whether or not he has to submit the BC
Cheney used the exact same words, in the exact same order, in 2009 as he did in 2005. If there were any objections, they had to have been submitted in writing. If there had been any objections, he would have known that and formally asked for them.
Again, if they're just sending a letter, there would be no ruling on anything. It's just a letter! It would be different if the House or Senate opened an inquiry an issued subpoenas. But - this is a completely different situation. It's no different than the various other representatives who have been recorded saying that they wish he'd release the BC. It's just in writing (or - Deal promised that it would be in writing). But it has no more "force" than something said in an interview.

I endeavor to be honest and polite in all conversations, whether on FreeRepublic or elsewhere, to represent conservativism with honor. From your home page. Did you forget?

I don’t disagree with this thread. And I didn’t summon a cheering squad to disrupt discussion. I pinged some freepers to discuss the possibility of invoking executive privilege and the implications of Cheney’s not asking for objections at the electoral vote certification.

I have never seen anyone try so hard to convince people that you are a conservative as that of which is on you home page...still chuckling at that too

The one on the internet was a computer printout. The long form is the one that contains actual handwriting and signatures. I dont think that one has been seen by anyone in the public, has it?

As evidenced by the posts to me thus far on this thread, birthers are incapable of polite discussion with those with whom they disagree. So I’ve given up trying where they’re concerned. They always resort to personal attacks.
I’ve had more productive and extremely polite exchanges with libtards at other sites on this issue than with this group. I’m happy to simply not have discussion with your group, but y’all just can’t help yourselves. It’s pathetic.

Ogdens resignation as Deputy U.S. Attorney General in the same week, f
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I would think that an ethical DOJ attorney would simply say, “Provide the documents showing you are a natural born citizen. Don’t waste my time or the taxpayers’ money.”
Is this why Ogden resigned? Is he being asked to defend the indefensible?

Then what?”
Well, Duhhhh.
The issue will go away, but it will be harmful to
Obammie for thumbing his nose for so long.
My contention has always been:
1. He does not have a BC, because he was born outside of a hospital, or, he was NOT born in Hawaii.
2. He has one, but it contains embarrassing information, such as father’s name.
His best out is to say that it was a home birth.
The whole issue is very strange, but I am leaning on the
side of those that believe he is NOT a US citizen.

Well then, it wouldnt be the same one that was previously posted on the internet.
They have played a shell game with the real BC, and it is a transparent game at that.
In spite of the fact that they have managed to keep it out of view thusfar, they really havent fooled all of the people all of the time have they?

I was thinking of Senator Grassley’s requests for documentation from the WH regarding Walpin’s firing. Was the WH not obligated to respond on some level? I know they began negotiations with him and his staff about what they would provide.
As far as the ruling is concerned, I was thinking about how that might play out should the issue be escalated to that point.
There were no questions surrounding the president’s qualifications in 2005. So I wouldn’t expect anything different. I don’t know why, but I was under the impression that the written objections could only be submitted if and when Cheney asked for objections. Is there a process beforehand to submit objections?

Wondering whether or not Obama can or will try to use executive privilege to avoid submitting proper documentation is not trolling. Neither is pondering the implications of Cheneys failure to ask for objections at the electoral vote certification.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
If Obama does this, then the issue will continue to fester and **will** likely become a full blown infection **long** before the next election.
Polls show that 51% of Republics do not even believe he was born here. The percent would be higher if the respondents had been asked if it was impossible to know or if they had doubts.
I doubt that Obama can do any kind of massage therapy on those kinds of numbers. This will blow up in his face.
( By the way, I am among those who claim that given the evidence it is impossible to know for a certainty if Obama was born in the U.S. We do know his father was Kenyan and British and I personally would like a Supreme Court clarification of that issue.)
