Obama, Lawmakers Eye Bailout Fund for Jobs Bill

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama's options for spurring job growth may be limited by out-of-control budget deficits, but he is warming to moves by his congressional allies for a jobs-boosting bill.

Taking his defense of the economy on the road, the president scheduled appearances Friday in Pennsylvania to showcase innovative businesses following Thursday's White House jobs forum. That event combined cheerleading and brainstorming as Obama exhorted more than 100 CEOs, academics, small business and union leaders and local officials to focus on new ways to get businesses hiring again.

At the forum, the president spoke favorably of an expanded program to help make more U.S. homes energy efficient and mentioned trade measures and new tax incentives as being among ways to stop job losses (snip)

"We cannot hang back and hope for the best," Obama said. "What I'm interested in is taking action right now."

November's unemployment figures were due out Friday morning, with the jobs picture expected to remain bleak.

But, mindful of growing anxiety about federal deficits, Obama also said it is primarily up to the private sector to create large numbers of new jobs rather than embarking on a costly jobs creation program.

He said that while he's "open to every demonstrably good idea ... we also though have to face the fact that our resources are limited."

The appetite for debt-financed jobs legislation is far higher on Capitol Hill, where House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Congress will extend several items in February's $787 billion economic stimulus measure. Pelosi wants more money for roads and bridges and to save the jobs of firefighters, teachers and other public employees. (snip)

After talks with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and other administration officials, congressional Democrats are eying up to $70 billion in unused borrowing authority ---

What a crock. Anything but the right thing. Obama wants his radical socialism and thriving capitalism at the same time -- it ain't gonna happen. This thing was a sham before it even started. The RIGHT people were not even invited to this circus. And these socialists propose more TAX AND SPEND -- to do what??? More money for government control -- government jobs, not private sector REAL jobs.

Never, never, EVER underestimate the stupidity of a politician.

And the Kenyan Klod is right down there below the bottom of the most idiotic.

May he be kicked out so hard in ‘12 that he doesn’t hit the ground until Kenya.

They deserve him.

In reality, they are not even throwing our money at the problem — in their view there is no problem. America’s economy and freedom is collapsing just fine for them. They are KEEPING MOST OF THE MONEY for their upcoming elections. These crooks and liars will steal our money to further their power — to hell with anything else. Meanwhile, they put on these scam shows like this “jobs summit” to make the fools in America think they are doing something about themselves (who are the real problem).

Massive scam and ripoff.

I will no longer read any of the American Pravda propaganda LIES - but let me guess. No where is the term Tax Cut used. The mafia in D.C. hates a tax cut even more than a CHRISTIAN.

The Government cannot CREATE JOBS.

Gosh, who woulda thunk it? After all of the new ideas for creating jobs were put on the table at the “Jobs Summit”, the Obamunists’ big new idea is to, get this, spend more borrowed taxpayer money as the solution to “jobs creation”!

Wellllll, on second thought, now that I think about it a bit more, I shouldn’t be quite so stunned that the Obamunists once again reused their one and only idea: spend more borrowed taxpayer money.

Talk about a one trick pony! This would actually be side-splittingly hilarious if the consequences weren’t so serious. Unfortunately, we all know increased government spending is a drag on the economy, not a boost. After all, when did a single government employee ever produce any new wealth that could be “shared” with less-fortunate others? At any rate, the only good news is that by piling failure upon failure, eventually most of the voters in this country might figure out the Obamunists aren’t doing such a hot job running the show. Too much change and not enough hope.

The Democrat’s real jobs bill just got introduced. It’s HR 4183 and it extends the current unemployment extensions almost TWO YEARS. Another admission of the Stimulus Bill failure.

The overwhelming guiding principle behind anything Obama does is promoting govt. control. That’s why his idea for boosting jobs is to spend the taxpayers money for jobs that he approves of. If he really wanted to create jobs, he should give a 100% income tax credit in 2010 for the wages paid for any new jobs created by business. The problem with that plan is that Obama doesn’t get to be the one who determines what jobs are created.

Yes, and it is even broader than that. He is a Marxist as are his closest anti-American thugs. And this, mixed with all his other undesirable attributes, makes him one of the worst possible people to EVER inhabit our beloved Oval Office. The list is too long to mention but we know what these characteristics are. The vote in 2010, to minimize his destructive powers upon America, is TOTALLY CRITICAL.
