A very good point.
There is a natural human tendency to allow our outrage over the nature of the crime to cause us to assume guilt.
IOW, the more angry we are the crime was committed the more likely we are to assume the accused is guilty.
This is not, of course, logical. And in this case it has not yet even been proven a crime occurred.
A good friend of mine about 20 years ago was in a vicious custody fight. The ex dropped the nuke on him, accusations of molestation of his 5 and 8 year old girls.
To this day I firmly believe he was innocent. He of course lost the custody fight. Although acquitted in a criminal trial, many people still assumed he was guilty and had beat the rap.
It does happen. Sometimes, officers inadvertently put ideas in the child’s head as to what answer the officer wants. Sometimes, it isn’t inadvertent.
At anyrate, we got some training on this issue, and how to frame questions that were not leading, and didn’t put ideas in the child’s head. Same with the anatomically correct dolls. Let the child show you, not the other way around.

I am still fighting the lies my ex wife told 30 years ago. My children believed her and I have very little contact with them. She accused me of being a homosexual and went all over my neighborhood telling people I was.
The saddest part of all this is the fact my oldest boy is gay. He thinks I hate him. He didn’t even consider me to be his father. The bastard she hung up with while we were married became their Father after she pushed me to the ground. Odd thing about that is he died about 4 years later.
It is a screwed up world.
