Probably because the definition of the Constitutional requirement for the Presidency is no longer taught in schools.
I was taught what a natural born American citizen was, and that no other type of citizen was eligible for the Presidency. That was a while ago. What are schools teaching now? Stuff from Gwen Ifill's book?
