I’m surprised Sarah didn’t give a more neutral answer to the question posed given how controversial the birther issue is.

Probably because she's not a politician - she has no problem with speaking the truth. IMO, it's not controversial - the MSM and others have been told not to talk about it. Where's the ammo on something they don't want to touch to begin with?

I’m still waiting for the Canada Free Press to report on who the media personality is who had his career, life and families life threatened if he/she brought up the b/c issue.

The media does talk about it but with few exceptions (Lou Dobbs being one) it’s usually in the vein of “racist, right-wing nutcases going after Obama because he’s black”.

Combine that with how in general the media treats Palin ad it should be obvious why I’m sure the MSM will attack her over this and most likely twist her words/intent to further try to damage her.

Palin has been able to pull a few miracles these last two years, maybe this is one of them; forcing the media to start questioning Obama and the administration while demanding full disclosure.
