My God that is scary. Thank goodness you acted and the Texan backed you up.

For a couple of years after 9/11, some our younger, buffed and in good shape male relatives and friends were often asked to sit in aisle seats by the flight attendants.

A couple of weeks ago this started happening again on some flights. A friend flew home the Wed before Thanksgiving. He is 6’ 5’ and a solid 250#’s. He and other well built guys were asked to change their seats and take critical aisle seats for the flight.

Good story, Uncle Miltie.

Whenever I travel home from the mainland, I make a point of eyeballing the passengers in the gate area to spot military in transit to Schofield, K Bay or Pearl and strike up a conversation while we're waiting. I also scan the crowd for the weird but unlike flights in the mainland, not a lot come over here.

It's good to know where these young soldiers and Marines are seated on the plane and keep some contact with them. Makes the flight more comfortable.

Long ago, I suggested that military vets and LEOs be recognized at ticketing by the major airlines as informal backup security on flights, given arranged seating distributed through the sections and just maybe given a token of appreciation for flying their airlines, increasing the security. Never gonna happen.....but WTH. I've been asked by flight attendants if I'd had flight experience and if I would change and move to the seat next to the Emergency Exit or the front nearest the access hatch...so something's going on in the flight crews' agenda already.
