Worth repeating:
“it all boils down to one thing. They are jealous of Sarah. They don’t admit it, but they are, Sarah has done more in her short life than those old Moose have in theirs and then are jealous down to the bone.”
“Sarah Palin, unjustly, allows Republican women to feel less guilty for letting strangers raise their kids.”
You are a bad mother and wife for wasting time on this board. You should be assisting your husband and children in some fashion.
If he looked like John Kerry - well.....there ya go :)
That’s good news!
I do think - when it comes right down to it - if my mom goes into a voting booth and it’s between Palin and Obama?
She’ll definitely pull for Palin.
She’ll just fret about it alot afterwards.
In the same vein one could ask, “Do you think Deborah put herself through college?” Of course not. This is not about comparing societal factors in the time of the Judges to the societal factors of today.
What I am comparing is the people of both of our societies straying from God so far that the men were passed over and a woman used in their place. God raised up a woman. Was Deborah a perfect woman? I doubt it. Only the Lord is perfect. Did she worry about some rule that only men were allowed to be used by God to lead their army and guide their people? No! Did she allow herself to used by God? Yes. That is what we need to remember.
After reading your posts 35&36 I must say you have my utmost admiration for NOT being just another “DUMB GIRL”!
You obviously know what you’re talking about...
HA!
Oh thanks for that - you’re awfully sweet.
Unfortutately some things are learned through tough experience.
Sarah is a Feminist with the goal to “shatter the glass ceiling”. She admires Hillary and Madeleine Albright for that reason and is happy to say so.
For perspective: It is the women’s vote that has put Obama and the socialists in power. It is women who have aborted 60 million babies and taken men’s job by force of law. It is women who have given over their children to government controlled public schools. Men let it happen - just like the Garden of Eden.
As for Deborah, she is specifically identified as a prophetess (and not as a civil ruler). Her judgment is tied to her prophetic gift.
Deborah did not fulfill the role of a warrior or lead Israel into battle. When it was time for Israel to rise up, the Lord did not call or appoint Deborah to fight or command the armies of Israel. Instead, God used her, as His prophetess, to call and appoint Barak to that position.
5And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
Remember the title of the book and all the judges of Israel of whom Samson was one. She (not her husband) held a place of honor where she did just as Moses had done for all the people of Israel years before. Let's see was Moses a civil ruler?
There were many female prophetesses, there was only one female judge and that was Deborah, whom God raised up to lead Israel. Perhaps you need to read the entire book of Judges so that you can understand what the purpose of a judge of Israel was.
When every one did what was right in his own sight (lawlessness) God raised up a judge in Israel to lead them out of their predicament. Deborah was the female Judge who led Israel out of their travails. They didn't have presidents. Moses established a system of heads of family who were to be judges over their groups and he himself was a judge over them all. Just as Deborah was.
Read from Exodus 18.
25And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
26And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.
Deborah was not a low level ruler/judge. She was judge over all of Israel. Just as Moses was.
I love reading and studying the Bible and I know that God can do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. So I have learned not to put him in a man constructed box. But I have also learned that people should work within their ability and not be taken beyond their faith. If it is sin for you to consider a woman ruler, then stay within your faith.
Moses was special among prophets:
Numbers 12:6-8
And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
Deborah didn’t act as a prophetess in villages of Israel or by going out and preaching. Instead, she ministered from her home - people came to her.
The word prophetess had only been applied to one woman: Miriam.
Deborah was the wife of Lapidoth. This could be the name of her husband; it could give the place where she was from, or it could mean that she made wicks for the Sanctuary lamps.
It’s all very interesting, but none of it applies to Sarah Palin. In America our politicians are not religious leaders and Sarah Palin is no prophetess anyway.
No conservative woman admires Hillary and Madeleine Albright. And no conservative woman wants to expand federal spending and control over special needs children.
Miriam, Huldah, Noadiah, Anna and many others, as well as Deborah are called prophetess. But only one of all those names was also a judge of Israel, as Moses was. That is person is Deborah.
I would guess you have not voted in your lifetime if you have to have a perfect person for whom to vote. As for me, I will take an imperfect human being who understands who the Lord is.
As I said, if it is against your faith to vote for a woman, or any imperfect person according to your beliefs, then may the Lord be with you, remain in your faith.
Why would you vote for someone for President who admires Hillary and Madeleine Albright?
Your real problem is that you say she admires Madeline Albright and Hillary? Ronald Reagan admired FDR all his life. Do think that fact should have disqualified him as a conservative?
I am not going to reject someone who understands and can articulate conservative principles because of who they happen to mention they admire. You can admire many people for many reasons. If it bothered me, I would look to find out what those reasons were. I would not automatically disqualify them because they mention admiration for people who arent conservative.
If everyone followed your rule, Ronald Reagan would never have been elected.
If you are looking for things to disqualify anyone, you will find them because none of us are perfect. But if you honestly have to have a perfect person in order to vote, then so be it. Just dont hold your breath waiting for one to come along.
No, that is just one problem with Sarah - her motivation. Sarah's admiration is based on Feminist goals. What did President Reagan admired about FDR?
"Hillary left 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling of America. It turns out that the women of America aren't finished yet and we can shatter that glass ceiling once and for all!"
- Sarah Palin
It is an honor to call her a sister. . . America, this is what a feminist looks like.

"Wow, and thank you too Shelly for that kind introduction, and thank you so much for your endorsement, and with your help, Shelly, in November, all of us, who consider ourselves progressive, yet at the same time we can be conservative, we're gonna shatter the highest, hardest glass ceiling in America.
I was looking at Shelly's resume before I came out here and I thought 'Woo, there's some diversity! I like this, it's good.' And, because, maybe this is the only time that I would get an endorsement like this, or an introduction, I've gotta share with you, it's like kinda providential, yesterday what happened to me, I can use this today after that introduction from Shelly, I'm readin' on my Starbuck's mocha cup, okay, the quote of the day? You'll never believe what the quote was. It was Madeleine Albright, former Secretary of State, and U.N. Ambassador. And Madeleine has as her quote of the day for Starbuck's now she said it, I didn't she said, 'There's a place in hell for women who don't support other women.'
Okay, now thank you so much for receiving that well. I did't know how that was gonna go over. And now, California, let's see, what a comment like I just made, how that is turned into whatever it'll be turned into tomorrow in the newspaper."
(According to CBS News Scott Conroy, Palin got the quote slightly wrong. Albright actually said, There is a place in hell reserved for women who dont help other women.)

Ronald Reagan admired the fact that FDR created jobs (govt. expansion) for him, his brother, and his father during the depression.
So now I guess he’s not good enough for you too.
So, what has that got to do with Sarah Palin being a Feminist and a big spender?
You’re the one with the Feminist problem as well as having problems with people who are not perfect. As far as Palin being a big spender, I look at what she has done in Alaska. And I look at her views on what she believes should be done in our country.
I used the same standards I used when deciding whether Reagan was conservative enough for me. I looked at what he did in California and said he wanted to do with our country. I used that criteria especially when people wanted to proclaim him not good enough for other reasons such as being divorced.
It’s obvious that you have issues with Palin that have nothing to do with the way she governs or how conservative she is. As a US citizen, that is your prerogative.
At least you acknowledge that Sarah Palin is one.
