("Mad" Czar John Holdren) Obama Science Adviser Urges Climate Action Amid Uproar
Wall Street Journal ^ | Dec. 2, 2009 | STEPHEN POWER

Posted on 12/02/2009 6:26:12 PM PST by thouworm

Human activity is "beyond any reasonable doubt" the primary cause of warming temperatures, Mr. Holdren said. (snip)

"However this controversy comes out, the result will not call into question the bulk of our understanding of how the climate works or how humans affect it," said Mr. Holdren, director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy.

He agreed it is important to "get to the bottom of" the emails' meaning, but emphasized that the vast majority of scientists who have studied climate change agree that failure to act promptly to curb emissions of heat-trapping gases is "overwhelmingly likely" to lead to extreme and damaging impacts on the planet.

His comments were challenged by Rep. James Sensenbrenner, a Wisconsin Republican who said the emails "at worst" suggest "a massive scientific international fraud."

"We're being asked as a Congress to make major changes in American society in energy use," he said. "The scientists may be able to change their story and do more research, but once Congress passes a law, it will be as difficult to undo the consequences of that law as putting milk back in the cow."

Holdren had hopes of becoming the Kleineschiestenobergrupenfuhrer pf the Western people's paradise.

Now they are dashed.

He is beyond words and continues to attempt to chant the mantra of the true believers.

Three little words.

If we all remember and repeat these words, this scandal will grow:

Hide the decline.

More from Holdren:

-- Obama administration officials strongly defended the science behind global warming today, calling evidence of dangerous, human-induced climate changes powerful.

At a House hearing, top White House scientist John Holdren said there is a “very strong scientific consensus on the key characteristics of the problem.”

“The current state of knowledge about it, even though incomplete, as science always is, and even though controversial in some details, as science almost always is, is sufficient to make clear that failure to act promptly to reduce global emissions . . . is overwhelmingly likely to lead to changes in climate too extreme and damaging to be adequately addressed by any adaptation measures that can be foreseen,” said Holdren, who heads the Office of Science and Technology Policy.

He spoke at a hearing on climate science convened by the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming.

Holdren pointed to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data on temperature records going back to 1880 showing that nine of the 10 warmest years have occurred since 1998, and all 15 of the warmest have been since 1990. The lack of warming in recent years does not alter what has been a consistently upward trend, he said, comments echoed by NOAA head Jane Lubchenco. “The overall record is an upward trajectory,” she said.

But Holdren also acknowledged that questions remain about what some of the emails mean. “If there was manipulation of data that was not scientifically legitimate, I regard that as a problem and I would denounce it,” he said. Nonetheless, the whole affair does not reveal any game-changing information, he argued.

“However this particular controversy comes out, the result will not call into question the bulk of our understanding of how the climate works,” he said.

"...but once Congress passes a law, it will be as difficult to undo the consequences of that law as putting milk back in the cow."

Holdren replied, "Milk comes from cows? Gee, I didn't know that."

So-called “scientist” Holdren is a political hack, a fool and an embarrassment. He has sold his soul to lies, rather than seeking the truth. He is not a scientist; instead, he is a thought-criminal who deserves to be shunned by society. His family should disown him immediately. He should resign tonight and wander the streets of WDC begging for alms. If that fails, someone should throw his dissertation at him. What a freakin’ clown in a cabal of various (unfunny, yet frightening) clowns.

Holdren's not planning on backing down. He'll have to be dragged off the stage.
~~~~~
Several members of the Republican minority called for Congressional hearings and investigations to look into the e-mails and whether they raise questions about the integrity of climate science. “I’m not sure the U.S. Congress is the best way to get at scientific truth,” responded John Holdren, director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy. The scientific community has mechanisms for addressing controversies like these and those have already been set in motion, he said.
A couple minority members took their accusations to another level. Rep. John Sullivan of Oklahoma said he saw a “culture of corruption in science right now.”
Holdren replied, “It would be amazing if all the academies of sciences and all the scientists around the world who have come to the same conclusions were part of some conspiracy." He said he doesn't believe “these emails are sufficient to demonstrate a ‘culture of corruption’ in the scientific community” and pointed out that scientists manipulate data regularly in order to make it understandable and comprehensive. It isn't nefarious, he said.
Human activity is "beyond any reasonable doubt" the primary cause of warming temperatures, Mr. Holdren said.
Mr. Holdren has no ability to support his assertion of AGW. There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that humans cause global warming. The alchemists (warmers) have consistently refused to provide the data, methodology, and assumptions to other scientists for independent verification of their claims. The reason that they refuse to provide the data is because they know their claim of man made global warming is false or junk science.
It is a colossal fraud perpetrated by politicians. Just about every scientist supporting AGW is on a payroll to prove that man causes global warming. They have a vested interest. The scientific method has been broken for many years now, to the extent that alchemy is back in practice.
