Mike Huckabee needs to shut up, for his own good. He cannot stop talking about the Maurice Clemmons case. The more he does, the worse he sounds.

That's not only stupid, it's evil. so he'd knowingly free someone who will later go on to rape a 13 yr old and murder 4 police officers?!

I wasn't inclined to vote for Huckabee, but now I'd be inclined to work against him.

That's a really stupid thing to say.

Hey, Huckster, First Rule of Holes, obey it!

Then he’s still not fit to be my President.

Why doesn’t he just get a big sign with flashing letters that says “Hey, everybody ... I’m still a MORON!”?

For many conservative voters, law and order and support for the military trump all else. That’s the main reason why Giuliani is so popular, even though he’s a leftie on social issues (I’m talking generally, not in terms of any real chance he has at the Presidency). Huckabee’s soft-on-crime past didn’t get much exposure in the 2008 primaries, but now that his lack of judgment has been revealed, he won’t make double-digits in 2012.

Huck must be planning to turn gay and move to San Francisco....because that is the only place that would tolerate such stupidity

Still hard to believe we were stuck with Huckabee, Romney and McCain after the not much better ones all dropped out. Huckabee played a major part in making sure we ended up with the 2nd worst of the entire plate of candidates, McCain. Ron Paul was the worst.

"so he'd knowingly free someone who will later go on to rape a 13 yr old and murder 4 police officers?!"

That's not what he said and I think you know it. He said if he knew what the future held, he obviously wouldn't have approved it.

But he also said that if he got a case file today, similar to the one he got on Clemmons back then, he would approve it.

I'd have probably made the same call Huckabee did.

No. I want him to keep talking so the truth about his real positions is seen by all. The last thing we need is another “compassionate” conservative.

Regarding Huck, today I would make the exact same decision as I did in 2008: Huck never got my vote, never will.

I’d rather have a liberal than an uncompassionate conservative.

Neither are acceptable.

We need a compassionate conservative that focuses his compassion into solutions that make sense and is aware of unintended consequences. One that believes in the free market, but also understands governments role in keeping the market free and fair. One who knows what government can do, and what government ought not do. Not one that intends to outspend the democrats.

But certainly not an uncompassionate conservative that shirks governmental responsibility or is controlled by the biggest pocketbooks.
