The difference between them and us, is they are willing to use their guns to enforce thier will at the drop of a hat. .......possible, but not likely once the lines are drawn between the states that proclaim their sovereignty and the federal thieves....
I seriously doubt that the armed forces would act against the American Patriot....nor will the State Militia, State police, etc. It's coming....when? Who knows.... No need for violence...just stand up and say NO...no more...you are fired! Imagine 1,000, 10,000, 500,000, 1,000,000 people or more declaring the end to tyranny.
How? State Sovereignty movement sounds good but has accomplised Zero. FedGov has ample resoures to come after 1,000 people who stop obeying their laws. Even 10,000 isn't that big a problem. There are 14 million Federal Employees (including military and post office). If throw in SSI recipients you soon find that even in the Redest of Red states, Wyoming for instance, you have a huge percent of people dependent on The State for their sustinance. Trying to pass resolutions ending FedGov illegality and unconstitutional programs is therefore very difficult in any state. If not impossible. Which is why to date all such resolutions have the impact of declaring today "Pet Weasel Day". Buy, hey I am ALL EARS if you have a plan. I should would love to see one.

Frankly.....it will take a legitimate threat of succession.

Now, I do not say this to be bombastic. Actual state legislation will get attention and may ignite a movement. Of course, the pain applied by the socialists will have to increase beyond the severe pain threshold.

The fire of freedom will likely start in Texas.
