Possible break in the 'Smiley Face' murders case
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
There are now claims that this string of what was thought to be random drownings in the northern states is an organized group of serial killers.
When this came up earlier, the likeliest explanation seemed to me that it is a ring of gay serial killers.
Interesting to see what comes of this. Not much information yet as to what they have found. Also, if it is a gay mafia of some kind, it will be interesting to see how they handle that.
Is this the one on “Mentalist?” My wife loves that program, though I think he’s a jerk....
I don’t know. There were some posts about it here in FR some years back.
The common factor, as far as I could see, seemed to be that these were young men, often college students, who seem to have been picked up in bars around closing time, and then ended up in the river.
That, and the smiley faces painted on walls, which seem to commemorate these murders.
this would be fantastic
there are just too many coincidences for all these similar deaths, all over the USA, mostly college towns on/near rivers, to be random
I’m dubious. If it’s such a big break in the case, why wait until January? This sounds like a page from Geraldo’s playbook.
It is an “organization” according to the detective. All the victims were white males, I believe. We just had 32 black racists organized through gang association to attack white men in a Northern city a week or two ago. Could it be a racist organization? Were all the victims in college?
If I’m not mistaken, either all or almost all of the victimes were college students.
I am looking forward to seeing what this investigation of retired detectives uncovers and why the police departments and FBI were so callous and careless about a serial killer knocking off Americans.
I suppose it’s because that in each case, the local police assumed it was an accidental drowning and it never occured to them to pool their information with other law enforcement agencies in the region. It took two retired police officers working on their own dime to establish the connections.
If it was clear to us because of a retired detective’s work to connect the dots for the police, it should have been clear to them, right?
Yes, one would think it would. I suppose we’ll know more when they make their announcement.
