There needs to be a freeze on their access to the existing files so that there is no coverup of the full level of deceit.

If you step back and think about it, the "raw data" CRU says has been discarded must exist somewhere on their computers, since it's the data being manipulated in such files as "Harry_Read-Me.txt."

It's probably characterized as "lost" because it's release would show just how the "raw data" has been warped and mangled to suit political objectives.

So, yes, there should be an objective forensic examination of the UEA CRU computers -- but the British government is so invested in AGW that this scandal is hardly being reported there. The chance of an honest investigation is minimal.

Our government funds some of their research. The British socialists may be unwilling to investigate this culture of corruption but our own financial stake permits us recourse.

Just as international Nigerian banking scams can be prosecuted on both ends of the wire.
