“elites eventually beat back Gingrich and the Bushes” The Gingrich types and the Bushes ARE the elites!

Traitors hate her, patriots love her. Most of those in the foggy middle will figure it out.

If she runs, I truly believe that she will be the next legitimate President of the United States.

The problem with the elites and their "big tent" philosophy is that it requires pandering and phoniness with all that focus group nonsense. Sarah can't do that without compromising her main asset. Her authenticity.

Palin calls her tent "common sense conservatism", which will attract conservatives, independents and many others.

So right! We need to stay on the offensive by challenging the premise. You just demonstrated that with great skill.

BTW, love your tag line.

“The persistence and even growth of Palin’s popularity and impact on the national discussion now makes unavoidable the reality of the elitists’ worst fear: that there are more of us than there are of them. And we now realize it.”

They fear this most of all because the elitists will be marginalized and much that they have taken and feel entitled to will be stripped from them.

It takes 3 ABC News 'Reporters' to report that Sarah's been flying around in a very expensive private jet during her book tour. (is there any other kind?) Sarah Palin Uses Private Jet Between Stops on Cross-Country Bus Tour to Promote Book Oh! ...The Horror!

Thanks to Sarah, HarperCollins will be able to buy a fleet of them.

the pundits' vitriol and patronizing comments smack of a hatred and anger that only thinly veils the real emotion underlying their irrational behavior: Fear.

1)those who are filled with evil naturally have a hatred of the good for being the good
2)she represents an assault on liberal values which they are beginning to realize might actually succeed, brings out more and more fear, hatred and anger in liberals

John 3:19
19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

In this passage, of course John is referring to Jesus,
but those who follow Him cast the same light into the darkness.

Since her nomination, she had several high-profile opportunities to get in the face of her interviewer and attack, rather than backpeddle, explain, or finesse. She should be asking THEM questions about their bias and making THEM squirm, rather than being on the defensive.

I say that, not as a tactic, but because the failure of our media is largely to blame for the financial and political mess we are in. They have spent 40 years conditioning Americans to be socialists, and forget their personal-responsibility roots. So far - in rather numerous high profile confrontations - Palin hasn’t been confrontational. As far I’m concerned, she’s the best alternative going. But it’s like I’m revisiting Newt. Potential. But way too accomodative for the educational needs of the electorate.

Why is it that supposedly rational conservatives feel bound to accuse anybody who disagrees with Sarah Palin, of "hating" her?

Is it, perhaps, that those supposedly rational conservatives are operating on emotion rather than reason?

The answer to that is an obvious "yes," as any objective observer of a Sarah Palin thread could easily see.

Starting out with a false assumption scarcely marks you as "an objective observer," obviously... but: continue with the argument by assertion, by all means, if it gives you something constructive to do with your hands. ;)

Well, Kent, that's a very cute response that somehow manages to dodge the obvious and observable fact that the word "hate" is regularly tossed by certain FReepers at those who offer criticism of Ms. Palin.

It's all a bunch of candy-ass emotionalism that apparently assumes Sarah Palin cannot defend herself politically.

Sorry, Kent

No need to apologize, FRiend. PDS need not be a permanent condition; I expect you to make a full recovery, in time. ;)

There’s a fine line between making an effective point and shooting one’s foot off. Dealing with the media cannot be turned into an obvious on-camera wrestling match, because the media won’t play fair. They’ll edit comments, use odd-moment facial expressions, remove context.....all their tricks to make the conservative look and sound bad.

It takes the gentle, smiling, well-timed comments such as Reagan employed to fight against them. A full frontal assault damages nobody but Palin.

Just ask (if you could) Dwight Eisenhower.
