"Academic faddism" would never have happened without a flood of money from government and foundations with an interest in enriching their owners.

Academic fascism as well. Think about it: those who disagreed with these faux scientists were purposely marginalized & prevented from being part of their little peer reviewed club as though they were part of an ambitious political movement than a scientific exercise of inquiry. Science is not supposed to be political.
