The RAAF jet our PM flies on is NOT his “private jet”. It belongs to the Australian taxpayers whom allow the PM to use it as part of his job description.

Stupid 3rd rate journalism like that really irks me, and if we allow such statements to go unchallenged then over time the notion that our taxpayer’s property is a politician’s own personal private property becomes ingrained in the people’s psyche.

Over time people start to accept the erroneous idea that they are our masters when in fact it is they who are subjugated to us. In these times, more than ever before, they seem to need LOUD and CONSTANT reminder of that fact.

If you want to get technical, it’s leased by the Australian taxpayers. We don’t actually own those planes.

He should have flown on Qantas. “Qantas Never Had a Crash.”

Yes, you’re right. I don’t really want to get technical, just wanted to point out that we’re the ones paying for our plane which we allow him to use for his work while he works for us, rather than it being ‘his private jet’, that’s all.

“Qantas Never Had a Crash.”

Never a FATAL crash with JET aircraft.

They have wrecked jets, but with no fatalities.

In the 'old days', "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services" had some fatalities.
Enough that, if a local was going to fly, they had a wake for him BEFORE his flight.

I was in a meeting at Russell Offices (the Australian equivalent of the Pentagon for our American friends) when this was raised. A very senior sir muttered: “A mechanical problem? Yeah, the defective nut in the back.”
