Mike Huckabee was on The O'Reilly Factor tonight and apologized for releasing cop killer Maurice Clemmons from prison as governor in Arkansas.

“I hope this ends the Huck 2012 chatter.”
Huckabee was on conservatives’ “Hell, no!” list for 2012 already—the folks that were pushing Hucky were the same idgets pushing whatever non-McCain conservative-lite option was available. If anything, it will just get the Dubya-is-the-second-coming types mainlining Palin instead.
“He pardoned 700 felons in office? And I was criticized on FR because I supported McCain over him?”
I’d like to apologize for all the criticism you received for supporting McCain.
Except I can’t, because McCain is an even bigger @$$ bandit than Huck is. Huckabee pardoned felons a-plenty. McCain would have given—hell, he probably will still give—far more illegal alien identity thieves a free pass for their crimes with a blanket amnesty. They’re all felons if they’re working here, and I’d love to see a count of how many of them are violent criminals to boot.
At the age of 18, Clemmons was sentenced to 60 years in prison for burglary and theft a sentence which he was slated to serve in addition to the 48 years he was already serving on five felony counts, including bringing a handgun on school grounds.
Yeah, he was quite the sweetheart.
Huckabee could have Googled the prisoner's name, and info would come up.
LOL. I love that part about “mainlining Palin”..so true around here these days.
“He pardoned over 700 felons while he was in office, more than all the pardons issued by the 6 states surrounding Arkansas.”
The same Huckster that gave instate tuition to illegals.
The Huckster knows full well that criminals serve 1/3 to 1/2 their prison sentence. Politician’s that commute sentences should be liable for their actions.
“I guess this sticks the fork in whatever 2012 presidential aspirations he might have had”
The fork was firmly placed when he gave illegals instate tuition.
The annoying thing is that, with or without her book, we still know very little about the woman beyond platitudes. For example, how does she view the U.S.’s relationship with the U.N.? What about the gold standard? What about NAFTA, GATT, and the WTO? What about her explanation of the difference between Chinese communists and Cuban communists, and American treatment of the two? What about the Federal Reserve? What about Gonzales v. Raich? Kelo v. New London? What about the Commerce clause? What about a border wall? What about anchor babies? What about posting a missile defense in Poland and the Czech Republic? What about American servicemen being subject to international law or serving for the U.N.? What about America signing on to the LOST treaty?
And perhaps most simply: what ignored sections of the Constitution would you start enforcing again, Sarah?
Yet we hear the same $#!# we heard back in the day about Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney, George H.W. Bush, more of this b.s. about how she’s speaking for the average joe and tea party types—when we know exactly jack crap about where she stands on the really important issues. I don’t care about her stand on library books, whether she spent a night at the damn Waldorf or how nice her legs are! I don’t care about her damn speeches? Will she send the federal Department of Education back to where it came, or is she just another tough-talker that walks like Jerry Ford?
I won’t be fooled again.
All good questions. Hope we get answers. But I already know where the RINO wannabes stand on enough issues that are important to me that Ill reject most of them out of hand.
So far I like Sarah on her conservative stances.
I too would like to know how or if she (or anyone else) would have a hand in rolling back some of the constitutional abuses piled on during the last hundred years or so. I wont be holding my breath though. I sincerely doubt that any candidate who would do all the things I want done could ever get elected.
By the way, all I want done is to eliminate each and every federal department, agency, program, act, law, presidential edict, regulation, judicial ruling, constitutional amendment, treaty, agreement, contract, etc, that is not specifically authorized, enumerated and delegated to the central government by the constitution or is detrimental to or in violation of the original pro-liberty, pro-limited, pro-self government spirit and intent of the Founding Fathers or of the pro-liberty, pro-limited, pro-self government tenets and principles as set forth in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, etc, i.e., about 90% or more of the current federal government and bureaucracy should be abolished, repealed, rescinded, disbanded, reversed, wiped out, overridden, dumped, jettisoned, deep-sixed, or flushed down the terlit, etc. Restore the power of local and self governance to the states and the people as intended. Restore our constitutional limits on government. Restore our state sovereignty and our individual freedoms! Get the government out of our faces, out of our lives, out of our personal affairs, out of our business, off of our backs and out of our way!!
Let freedom and free markets reign!!
In a nutshell, thats all I want.
That was no apology. He’s getting closer to one though. Still passing the buck.
The total of his sentences was 108 years!

The questions Ilya Shapiro suggested Republicans ask Sotomayor are equally relevant and a short list for any Presidential contender that wants my vote (if a tad redundant after my suggestions).

You and I are of the same opinion regarding the rollback of government to its Constitutional limits. However, I believe that a candidate who would do all the things I want done could get elected. To me, the only problem is getting them past the RNC weasels, and then past the media’s pack of lies. Once that’s done...
...okay, maybe you’re right.
