What if we are indeed heading into a global COOLING period—couldn’t sucking CO2 from the air trigger a new sudden Ice Age?
We do seem to be headed into a cooling period, and as the oceans cool down, they will start re-absorbing the CO2 they have been releasing as they warmed up.
Actually, those of us old enough to remember these things, notice that things like seeding the oceans with iron ore was also supposed to stave off global cooling.
The CO2 levels that produce global warming were also supposed to be the things that lead to global cooling.
