Let me try again. I asserted that the military is the most socialist institution in the U.S. My evidence is that provides the full gamut of housing, health care, food, and even child care through government agencies or contractors. I ask again: What are your counterarguments to these specific points?
The government doesn’t provide child care to the military. The only thing that even comes close are schools, which stateside they’re run by the local school districts with exception to overseas.
As far as food, and housing is concerned, if you add the pittance of allowances together with the base pay the military is still under paid when compared to their civilian “counterparts”.
A civilian isn’t on the clock 24/7
A civilian isn’t subject to living “in the field” for weeks or months at a time.
A civilian isn’t subject to having someone pound on your door at 3am and telling you to grab your gear we’re being deployed.
A civilian doesn’t have to worry about snipers, and IED’s
A civilian isn’t subject to daily physical and mental stresses as found in military training or actual combat.
I bet that you would whine about having to use cold water to bathe with, followed by a cold meal and you’d sure as hell whine if you were having to pull watch at an OP/LP at 2am.
But it’s easier for cowardly little INGRATES like you who don’t have the balls to even serve in the military to hide behind your little keyboard and call the military (and by extension every military veteran) “socialists”
BTW, my tag line is specifically targeted at ungrateful people like YOU.
What do you think "support" means? Or "maintain"?
Since the military is one of only two government services provided for in the Constitution (the other being the post office), your "socialist" comments are ridiculous.
