Not only that but if people decide not to go out and eat then you’ll have people in the restaurant business out of work. Heck,in this economy,how many restaurants are just making it and won’t be able to pay bills with a falloff of 4 or 5% in traffic? Not only can people choose to eat out less, they can also go across the county line where it is reasonably convenient and eat in a lower tax county.
You are absolutely right. These fools don’t understand the unintended consequences of these actions. They will put many restaurants out of business and the staff out of work. The fools don’t see the obvious solution: reduce government spending.
