Upfront money needed to ease UN climate deal

NEW YORK — Money on the table — perhaps $10 billion a year or more — could help close a deal in Denmark next month and keep climate talks moving toward a new global treaty in 2010. But if poorer nations see too little offered up front, the U.N. conference could end in discord.

The money would help developing countries cope with ocean flooding, drought and other effects of climate change, while also helping them cut down on emissions of global-warming gases. The funds might eventually come from new sources, such as a tax on airline flights, but negotiators for now are seeking quicker infusions.

"Rich countries must put at least $10 billion a year on the table to kick-start immediate action up to 2012," the U.N. climate chief, Yvo de Boer, told reporters last week in a preview of the two-week conference opening next Monday in Copenhagen.

I can just imagine what that "kick start" would consist of.

Starting the process to distribute to those who have not the money of those who have?

Shakedown, pure and simple. Our Dims will love it, as they have mastered the art.

Considering the source of the article, I say we tax Google $10b a year to pay for this.

This is the kind of thing that happens when people have been promised that there would be great wealth spread around--if they'll but play along with their part--then it turns out the money isn't forthcoming within the timeframe they were given to believe, and especially now that the likelihood of ultimate payoff has been severely diminished the EAU disclosures.

If Congress shells out (more) taxpayer money based on this multi-national, treasonous conspiracy, they must be removed. (Charges to be brought later.) Further payoffs to Algore and his friends is no longer a matter of scientific consensus; it is purely a fraudulent political issue!

Finally they will stop asking the US for money as past actions of the UN, bailing out the world money problems, Global Warming sycophants etc have bankrupted us.

Get it from the rich countries: China, Mexico, Dubai (oops), Saudi Arabia, Iran, Venezuela, Brazil etc etc.

If the theme is spread the money around, give the third world education, freedom and democracy. And be sure to blend in a healthy amount of Christianity,,,, cuzz thats what built America.

These poor asses pulling it down need to recognize that.

This proves what I have always believed about the Global Warming/Climate Change matter.

First and foremost, it is about global government and global taxation -- providing the weenies at the UN with the power to tax the rich nations for the poor, and to dispatch the military of the powerful nations to fix the problems of the third world.

If you want a preview of what this will all look like, compare America of the 1910s to America today. Back then, the nation had to pass a constitutional amendment to permit the federal government to impose an income tax. By 1943, under Roosevelt, peak tax rates were 90% (weren't lowered until Kennedy). Today, taxes of all sorts consume 5 months of our income each year and most of the money goes to transfer payments. In Europe it's 8 months.

I have no doubt that the UN will claim that they only want a teensy-weensy part of our wealth to fix a few problems. That's what they said back in the USA to justify the 16th Amendment.

No global tax payment, ever. No UN dispatching our our troops, ever.

More Kool-Aid for the Congressional Dims to gulp-down. And I hope they do, and I hope this is an issue before the 2010 elections. More insanity to hammer the Dims with then. I can just see the TV election ads: “Over 10% unemployment, a 12 trillion dollar deficit, and Betsy Markey [insert your own Dim here] supports borrowing more money and raising your taxes to pay 50 billion a year to buy the votes of poor countries to adopt the U.N. carbon treaty, which is based on a hoax”.

The election fodder for hammering these morons is just unbelievable: Cap’n Tax, socialized health care, failed stimulus, GM/Chrysler bailout to save union jobs, KSM trial in NY, Copenhagen, failed economic policies and resultant unemployment, failure to produce H1N1 vaccine, attacks on women’s health.

Looks like a pretty good case could be made that we’re one of the ones who have not.
