A Washington state family whose turkey was stolen by a dog on Thanksgiving have quite a story to tell about how they eventually got the bird back (Nov 28).

Did they cook the turkey?
LOL!
@%$&%@$*&%...Bumpus’ssss!!!
Well, a cousin told me that when she was a kid, that their dog came home with a wrapped 10-pound ham in its mouth (one Thanksgiving). They never did find who it belonged to (asked the neighbors and so on...). So, they let the dog eat the entire ham... LOL...
I bet that dog was thankful that Thanksgiving... :-)
One year we were just about ready to sit down to the dinner, but the ham was on a rolling cart waiting to be placed on the table...there was a car accident on the street just outside our house so we all ran out to see what was going on and when we came back in (probably 15-20 min later) the dog ate our ham and her stomach was so big she couldn’t stand up!
What a happy dog! :-)
I had a similar experience with a birthday cake, a five pound german chocolate cake. We turned our backs for about five minutes, came in the kitchen to find no cake. After a while the old Black Lab waddled by and her stomache looked like a beach ball.
Oddly, she wasn’t interested in dinner that night. Heh.
Our dogs have been lucky enough, on two separate occasions, to find a ham and a cooked (?) whole chicken. Neither thing belonged to us and none of the neighbors ever claimed it was theirs either.
