And that is exactly the problem...this is about personal benefit and power and not supporting the US Constitution and serving the people.

Cheney is dead because as we saw last year...anyone with health problems in the past or a bit too over the hill is a liability. Whether you like it or not the age thing was just as much an issue with McCain as was Obama being black or half-black.

But for some reason, Libs dislike Cheney more than Bush. So yes Cheney will be tarnished for being in that administration.

Can’t say I disagree on both points. The GOP is a mess. And it needs to be cleaned out.

Our fore-fathers arrived at the same conclusion with British Rule. Our fore-fathers warned us of this very thing. The apathetic American public has allowed this to happen and thus they deserve the government they get.

However it is good to see people waking up...unfortunately the price we are going to have to pay to solve this problem of decades of apathy is going to be very steep.

That is precisely why the GOP isn’t the answer. They had a conservative candidate who they could have endorsed and they DIDN’T.

The main task of the NY Conservative Party is to keep the GOP honest. Had any of the other candidates been nominated other than Scozzafava, the Conservative party would have endorsed him/her and we wouldn't have heard a thing about it. Hoffman did well with the help of Republicans this time around, and will likely run as a Conservative AND a Republican next go around, and win. Were he to be ONLY registered as a Conservative, going against a moderately conservative Republican and Owens, he would split the vote with the Republican and Owens would win again. Third party in most cases like this is a loser, and the Socialists are the winner.

And I don't care how many blogs you've blogged on... that isn't the end-all-be-all of informing the public. Until print and mainstream televised media collapses, those are the ways most Americans continue to get news. You mention Glenn Beck... again, he is working through the system

I have said the answers are not in the the DEM or GOP parties. History proves me right on that one. Back before the Revolutionary War there were many people that believed we could fix the British system, that is was broken, that we had to work within it...they were called Tories.

History affords you nothing except that we could maybe win by a civil war. Nice. I'll pass until we've tried working within the political system. Intentional bloodshed at home is a last resort. Besides that, states fighting the elected Congress and President is much different than colonies fighting on home turf against the Crown, half a world away.

I am not here to make proposals on what to do...

In other words, you have no answer as to where money, media, and resources will come from to do as you suggest.

Until you have something concrete, I remain unconvinced, and I suspect most others do too.

Obama is spending at FOUR times what Bush43 spent creating budget deficits.

GOP is giving me vibes that they have learned their lesson after getting thumped in 2008,

But most important point is 3rd party candidates don’t ever come even close to winning. Perot looked promising but lost big and gave us Clinton.

So.....unless you prefer Obama in 2012, and FOUR times fiscal spending, voting 3rd party is harakiri.

I am not trying to convince you of anything. I am merely making the point that supporting what has already failed us countless times isn’t going to change anything.

It is the system that is the problem. It is designed to cater to a very narrow few whilst claiming to support all.

Anyone that is good that enters the two-party system is compromised from day one and effectively neutered from doing anything worthwhile.

MSM will collapse but it takes time and if you think somehow supporting the GOP is going to make a difference with the MSM you must have missed the last election. Even Fox isn’t doing their job.

History tells us exactly how this ends...in armed conflict. You can keep ignoring it but it is nearly inevitable now. Nobody in their right mind wants war or violence but if you are not preparing for the worst by now you are going to be in a world of hurt when it blows because it won’t blow over the course of months when this kettle goes it is going to happen quickly.

Glenn Beck is absolutely NOT working through the system.

You have every right to choose who you want to support or not and it is no one’s business here to force people one way or another ultimately the way you vote is a personal decision.

You still haven’t shown me how supporting the GOP is going to change anything? How have they learned their lesson? Sounds like you are banking on hope and change? Hope isn’t a strategy. The GOP had their chance when they controlled it all during Bush’s first term and 9/11 it was the perfect trifecta to change this country forever and put it on the right course...what did they do?

Screwed us forever...that is what the GOP did. They haven’t learned any lesson this is about personal power and gain and has little to do with representing you or me or the US Constitution.

I agree with the fact the GOP screwed us, but right now we have to get Obama out or the country has sunk. SO with that in mind, we must focus on getting checks and balances back to the congress. Have to get conservative Republicans back into congress.

The Republican would be dead if it wasn’t for Obama and the lousy Liberals. Then again Obama and all the Marxists wants them dead. And since most of them are Rinos in some ways that would ok. But reality is that we only have two parties now.

Long term it might be the right thing to abandon the Republican party and replace it. But now the focus must be on defeating Obama. So I come from the thinking that wants to work within the system.

We don’t have as much time as one needs to do any 3rd party for 2012.

Obama is doing a fine job of making sure he gets voted out in 2012...think about how much better the public will be informed by then.

By voting in people that will compromise with the DEMS in 2010 will only help bolster Obama to remain in office.

It is unfortunate but it is probably a lot better to let it all fail so enough people will wake up by 2012 to finally have the gumption to do the right thing and fix it.

Unfortuntely you seem to be falling for the “it is too big too fail” mentality...when in a free society that is exactly what should happen.

I would rather support my principles and convictions in 2010 and lose elections and ultimately let the DEMS make their own grave for 2012 and get a chance to actually fix this then continue to support the scam.

But first let's just say that the primaries aren't in three years, but rather begin in less than 2 years – November 3, 2011.

Have the GOP primaries been moved forward to November?

Oops, I just realized that I messed up the dates regarding the primaries, sorry. The presidential election is 3 years from now, on November 6, 2012. The primaries, however, run from January to March 2012, starting with the Iowa Caucus with a process that starts out months before the actual vote takes place due to the candidates traveling to Iowa, visiting communities, having rallies, hall meetings, etc. Lots of media attention is focused on Iowa, and that caucus is followed within a week by the New Hampshire primary and later, other primaries.

And don't forget that before the caucus there is the Iowa Straw Poll that will take place in Ames in August, 2011, less than two years from now.  Winning the straw poll is very significant because it allows for better fund raising and higher name recognition, giving the candidate increased status for about 5 months prior to the primary season beginning in early 2012. So  the process starts in less than 2 years.

I'm just trying to figure out how I got the date of November 3, 2011 in my post. I think I totally mixed up the date of the general elections held in November and the recent Iowa Caucus of 2008, which took place on January 3rd. If I am not mistaken, the 2012 Iowa Caucus is going to be on January 16, but I'm not sure if this is a definite date yet.

I think in the end we both want the same thing - a government that conforms to what the Constitution intends - but I think we will have to agree to disagree on the means of getting there.

I think you have the right idea on the third party... if we had the money, manpower, and time for it.

History tells us exactly how this ends...in armed conflict. You can keep ignoring it but it is nearly inevitable now.

We ought pray that this won't come to pass... but I fear we are already locked in on such a course.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday...

I will do whatever I possibly can, and a good deal more above and beyond that, to get Sarah Palin into the White House in 2012! ;)

There is $400 difference between this and the FR convention. I think there are more meals included and my guess is there will have to be heightened security and other logistics besides the speaker costs.

You are right it is a big chunk. We are thinking it could be our family vacation this year. We walked through that hotel last year and it was incredible. We talked about one day staying there.

As long as people like Lindsay Graham are in the GOP...Palin will never get the nod.

That's been our history along with McCain's loss. I hope his loss plus the fact that we are quickly drying up rino money will speak louder than the endless drum beat of appeasement.

Perennially trying to make nice to the left so everyone will like our candidate and we can then appeal to all---becomes blithering BS after a while.

There is not a region in the US where we can't run conservative candidates and have at least a small chance of winning sooner or later.

Even in the most liberal areas of the country sooner or later the left will self destruct then it will be our turn.
