(Pakistan Chronicle Report): He is the famous Houston hair-care millionaire Farouk Shami (originally from Palestine), who is strongly considering to run for Governor as a Democrat. He has already appointed a Treasurer, but has not yet filed papers.
At his Annual Ramadan Dinner at the Arab Cultural Center (ACC) Houston, Sixty Six years old Farouk Shami asked hundreds gathered if he should run or not and he got a tremendous “Yes” with everyone stood up clapping and saying in the affirmative.

He criticized Gov. Rick Perry for rejecting $556 million of federal stimulus money for unemployment benefits... Shami also said he would push for a “duty-free zone” on the Texas-Mexico border.
