Some years back, were not a couple of GIs tried in Japanese Courts for the rape of a Japanese civilian woman??

Or am I wrong?

Different crime....but same "process" here??

That is a different situation.

US military personnel are under the jurisdiction of the local authorities in foreign countries if they break the law there. I knew of several sailors who were caught with drugs by the Italian authorities, and were still in jail there on my second cruise back through there.
