Thats what Im thinking. Maybe he got the driver in the face, then tried to escape, passed out from the pain and crashed.

My bet is she read the Enquirer and was laying for him when he got home from Australia... hit him and he took off, lost consciousness and hit the hydrant and tree... especially since he would have been driving on the wrong side of the street to be coming from his house and hit them in that location...
