You haven't answered my questions. How do you enforce your decrees?
I live in eastern WV, about 1.5 hours from the DC beltway. When driving around the beltway, speed limited 55, the right lane (of 4 or five) usually travels around 60. The left lane can have speeds of 75 or more. At rush hour, it is fast or crawl. It crawls when there is a wreck. Lives are like that.
I am far from ignorant. I just disagree with your POV. I realize that the only way to stop sin is to lead sinners to Christ. Faith in His life, death, and resurrection are the only cure for sin and the only way to escape punishment. God allowed sin to come into the world to show us the abundance of His mercy. We can stop all sin through Him, but ONLY THROUGH HIM. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that moves us to change. No document can change that.
I am a Strict Constitutionalist. Show me the enforcement mechanisms for your laws... then we will have an "adult discussion". As for me and my house, we will trust the Lord!
Don't blame your failure, and the failure of the politicians you empower, to do so on Him.
So, using your "logic," because you can't stop lawbreakers from breaking the law we shouldn't have any laws?
God gifted us with human government to restrain man's sinful nature, in order to protect the God-given rights of all.
“Show me the enforcement mechanisms for your laws... then we will have an ‘adult discussion’.”
That one’s easy. We do what we did before Roe, in states where abortion was illegal. Abortionists convicted of the crime were liable to prision.
That’s the usual penalty for various forms of intentional, unjustified homicide.
