Are they promising not to support candidates in 2010 and 2012 who won’t support the statement? Or better yet, to denounce them if they won’t?

As I read it, this is a statement of Christian principles, and intended to strengthen inter-denominational solidarity on the moral issues. It signals a need to support natural marriage, the child uhttp://www.getreligion.org/?p=21191nborn, and conscience rights, and to defend each other when attacked on these issues.

It is not a political statement in the sense of having anything whatesoever to do with candidates or political parties.
