Gold-Star father David Jeffers to ND Senator Kent Conrad: "I'm staying."

Senator Conrad's insulting defense of trying KSM in New York

David Jeffers:

Democrat Senator from North Dakota, Kent Conrad, while defending the Obama Administration's decision to try al Qaeda terrorists in civilian courts, said:

"If people don't believe in our system, maybe they ought to go somewhere else."

Really Senator Conrad? Would you like to retract that statement?

I am a Gold-Star Father, meaning my son Sergeant Eddie Jeffers was killed in Iraq.  I am opposed to terrorists being tried in civilian courts.  Did I mention that I am a 22 year Army veteran?  Is it okay with you if invoke my free speech rights?

How about Debra Burlingame?  Her brother, Charles "Chic" Burlingame III, was piloting the plane that terrorists slammed into the Pentagon.  Ms. Burlingame is opposed to terrorists being tried in civilian courts.  Does she need to go somewhere else?

Time and space does not allow listing the names of family members who lost loved ones on 9/11 and those who subsequently joined the military to find this terrorist scourge, some giving "the last full measure."  Do all of these patriotic Americans need to go somewhere else?

Perhaps it is Senator Conrad who needs to go somewhere else?  I'm not asking North Dakotans to send Senator Conrad out of the country, just back to Bismarck.

As for me, I'm staying.

Hoeven would beat Dorgan, and a good candidate would beat Pomeroy if only due to Hoeven’s coattails. Ed Schafer or some other mustached Republican current or former statewide officeholder can go after Conrad in 2012. (ND is the one state where the candidate with the mustache doesn’t start off with a 3% disadvantage.

I can’t bear seeing these pictures of our soldiers. What kind of system is it that we losing our best and brightest while at home there are all these out of work bums that are demanding more and more free stuff. Why should we have to lose a generation of our best men? I watch unelected, Glenn Beck from blockbuster, give them all power to fight the war win it and come home. I want a soldiers bill of rights. Give them a free hand to do what must be done. It is immoral to hamstring them and drag the war on. It also not right to the enemy. Send them to their death quickly and end the conflict with the least amount of blood shed. In other words this handsome credit to his race, family, country is more valuable then expending one small nuke in the right place.

I was going to say, there is another way, and we all know it, but I decided not to.

Maybe Mr. Jeffers himself could rise to the task of taking out Conrad...

BTW - “Our System”, regarding Unlawful Enemy Combatants was: Catch them, Interrogate them, Shoot them.

Now that the Marxist Elites have taken over our country, we give these Vermin more Constitutional Rights than the average American Citizen has.

Despicable. Shame on the citizens of North Dakota who voted for this ‘man’.

We are already somewhere else -- but won't be for long.

When is this bastard up for re-election?

Then let Dorgan take a beating for Conrad and then whip Conrad with his statement in ‘12. The KSM trial will be a disaster and that will be proven by ‘12 when Conrad comes up for re-election. These statements he made should be preserved and used to beat him like a mule come ‘12. This alone should cost him re-election rather easily. He’s a sneaky weasel anyway - tries to pretend he’s moderate but he’s nothing but a low-down, lying leftist scum.

Get rid of them both. I don’t get why the Dakotas keep sending rats to the senate in the first place.

Please open a thread when he announces. I’ll send him money from CA to help get Dorkman gone.

Smear them all with Conrad’s words, even if it’s just an ad that recites what Conrad said and points out that Dorgan and Pomeroy sat silent and did not condemn his remarks.

The terrorists are given more rights than our service men and women are given. Look at the Navy SEALs undergoing courts-martial over a terrorist/enemy combatant’s fat lip. I don’t see them getting a civilian trial. And what about Murtha’s travesties against our marines? Were any of these people mirandized? Search warrants issued? Hell, no.

No matter what he says, and he doesn’t say much, ND people worship Kent Conrad. He was supposed to sit out a term in the early 1990s, but ND wouldn’t let him.

ND people vote “Republican” for President but Democrat for Congress — they’ve been doing that since the 1970s. They are hedging their bets to get federal largesse.
