Perhaps if the emails had included some sexual innuendo and evidence of infidelities the press You mean pandering to politicians; pimping presstitutes; diddling the data, and F***ing the public aren't sexual enough?
How about the fact they were running a numbers racket; and had a massage parlor in the back room for those same numbers?
They were certainly also committing infidelities to the scientific method.
In fact, they were caught in flagrante delicto during an orgy of mutual gratification and self indulgance.
