“This is a war. Playing footsies is a dangerous thing. Giving an asshole a fat lip is nothing. Patton is rolling over in his grave over this.”

I agree with you, Blackbart.223.

“Giving an asshole a fat lip is nothing. “

Compared to what he did, certainly. His complaint is asinine, given that he killed four people, mutilated their dead bodies, and celebrated while their broken bodies were strung up. But....

“This is a war. Playing footsies is a dangerous thing.....”

In war, a breakdown in discipline can get Americans killed, right? I'm sure this is particularly true for special forces. The officer has to follow through. Discipline broke down, and the officers job is to deal with that.

It's not our officers who are acting despicably, it's Mr. Abed. He got socked in the kisser after killing four Americans. His behavior isn't what we Americans would call manly. It's sick. But given that he did file a complaint which suggests that US military discipline broke down among members of our elite forces, the officers have to look to it. I don't think this is a matter of political correctness,it's a matter of running a disciplined and effective military.

I give up with people like you. I am quite certain you are a good person. War is an ugly thing at best. But if is undertaken putting certain constraints on the people we ask to fight it is a recipe for disaster. I will repeat this, a fat lip is nothing. We don’t cut people’s heads off on video tape!!! That is who we are dealing with.

No discipline broke down. This is much ado about nothing. This one we can't really blame on Obama - this stink lays at the hands of our military establishment that have become pathetically neutered. So whoever is involved in court-martialling these hero's should be asked to retire. This gives encouragement to our enemies. We can't have this petty crap going on during war.

All due respect, what part of “enemy” don’t you understand?
I don’t really care if he filed a complaint. None of the terrorist scum is covered by the Geneva Convention anyway—they don’t meet the criteria. And they didn’t boil him in hot ham fat (they should have). He had a bloody lip. How many American criminals get a bloody lip resisting arrest every day—I’m sure some complain—how many cops are even reprimanded? Even a court knows the cops’ job like the SEALS doesn’t consist of sitting down for a cup of tea to reason with the perp.

American troops in WW2, in isolated incidents to be sure, gunned down surrendering German units. they turned Nazi death camp leaders to the freed Jewish prisoners after the camps were liberated, to be tortured and killed by the prisoners without due process. We also bombed and killed thousands upon thousands of civilians, old people, women, children.

If we played nice nelly in WW2—we’d have lost—like we’re going to lose in the long run here, it appears.

“...given that he did file a complaint...”

And that’s the problem - that the scum could even have the (normally civilian) right to file a complaint in the first place. As an non-uniformed ememy combatant, the scum has no more rights than a Somali pirate - both are enemies of all mankind and deserve only to be shot on the spot without remorse - without wailing and moaning from the PC peanut gallery.

The Message:
If one more person - anywhere - dies by the hand of some IslamoJihadi, kiss Meccca and Medina good bye - that goes for you too, Tehran...

Considering the degree to which PC infects the length width and breadth of the present military culture this statement is pure argle bargle.

Do you realize what our troops deal with? Have you ever talked to anyone who has served in a combat role either in Afghanistan or Iraq?

These creatures will kill eachother to up the body count and blame our soldiers. They LIE through their teeth and the press eats it up, our commanders bow to them because of it. They are using our REO to defeat us! And we are allowing it to happen! This has nothing to do with discipline, it is all manipulation!

Go to Rush Limbaugh’s website and read what a former Seal that called in had to say about this.

Seals don’t have breakdowns in their discipline as often as they have problems with political correctness.
