Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham has become a media celebrity. On constitutional issues, aside from the right to life, gun rights and national security, he takes a center-left position. Graham opposed the Republican option on judicial nominees and also voted yes on Sotomayor, knowing she supports abortion and gun control and is not for a strong national defense.
Graham is determined to again attempt to pass an immigration reform bill with amnesty for illegals, never mind his 2007 resounding defeat on this issue. Graham is said to be working with far left Sen. John Kerry on cap and trade and seeking common ground with Democrats for the passage of a government health-care bill while fellow Republicans oppose both.
Such consistent common ground decisions have moved Graham from center right to center left away from mainstream Republican goals.
Graham speaks of his once grassroots base and fellow Congressman Ron Paul as if they are Republican Party Enemy Number One. Why does Graham oppose those of us who support smaller government, more freedom, a balanced budget and a return to constitutional principles?
Graham, in spite of becoming increasingly arrogant and condescending, has been very successful in having his cake and eating it, too. Colluding with the likes of Kennedy, Kerry, McCain and Lieberman have made him a national media star and a hero of the cultural elite.
However, in the process he has become a turncoat and a pariah to an ever-increasing number of South Carolinians.

This is news?
Still amazed that SC did not even field a decent candidate to challenge Graham in the Republican primary of 2008. Everything in that letter was known in 2008. And how does the state that sends Jim Demint to the Senate also send Lindsey?
We need to get rid of the liberals first. We can deal with RINO’s after that. First, focus on the liberals. If we try to get rid of the RINO’s at the same time as we get rid of the liberals, it blunts our win. Make it a clear win - trash the liberals!
So how do we do that? We have Patty Murray. The only Senator more liberal than her was Ted Kennedy. So she should go first.
The only way to get RINOs out of office is for someone to replace them. Are you going to run for the Senate? Or some other office? If not, who are you helping with time and money? Yes, this is a challenge. A friendly challenge, of course.
One really big problem with that: the liberals are in districts that will reelect them for the rest of their lives. In other words, we can't get rid of liberals no matter what we do.
We need to go after their enablers. Graham is one of them. We can quarantine the liberals by making moderate politicians pay a price for working with them.
How could it Possibly Matter?
We Are Done!
The Libtards have Completely Undermined Our Educational,Political,Monetary,Spiritual and Science Institutions.
Our Military is in the Final Death Throws before It also is Totally Demoralized.
The People Rise and Speak and They are Ignored and Derided.
The Time For Reason is Over.
We Are Done!
If we didn’t need his vote on the Republican side now, I’d say he should be put in a bag and tossed into the river like unwanted kittens.
“We need to get rid of the liberals first.”
RINO’s are Liberals.
Liberals are the Left. The Leftists are the ones effing up everything across all Party lines.
Dems=Left
Greens=Left
RINO’s=Left
McCain, and Graham, and others talk about “reaching across the aisle” all too often to the point of making us nauseous. They are talking about reaching across the aisle to their brothers and sisters in the Democrat seats.
I suggest we go after the RINO’s first and eliminate them from the Republican Party if possible so we can reestablish the most important Political tool our form of Democracy has. Without the tool of debate, this Republic will cease to exist.
We become a one Party system without debate.
RINO’s need be sent scampering back across the aisle to their bretheren on the dark side.
There has to be a distinction between the ideologies. If there must be a Left, then there absolutely has to be a Right.
I can only guess that the left-wing establishment has something on Graham, and he is allowed to take some conservative positions for cover, but must adopt the core priorities of the liberals to avoid a fatal revelation.
One can not effectively fight "liberals" while simultaneously fighting RINOs who say such things as:
"I think the Democratic Party is a fine party, and I have
no problems with it, in their views and their philosophy."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 02 APR. 2004
and
"I have to tell you, [Obama] is a decent person, a person that you
do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 10 OCT. 2008
If we try to get rid of the RINOs at the same time as we get rid of the liberals, it blunts our win.
"Our"?
If you are speaking for members of the Republican Party who prioritize power over principles, then yes, you're right, it blunts their "win."
But, and let me make myself clear, there are many here on FR who are conservatives but not Republicans, largely because they have seen what happens when they are given power: they become drunk with it, forget their "fundamental beliefs," engage in political relativism to justify their follies, and then subsequently lose to Marxists like Obama.
A true win for conservatarians can only be accomplished by the election of genuine small-government Constitutionalist conservatives and libertarians; their party affiliation is irrelevant. What is, however, relevant is whether they will all be willing to work together in the pursuit of conservatarian goals and whether they will be willing to stand by their beliefs to the bitter end, no matter the cost.
Was Webster's around then? I'll have to check that out, but one thing is for sure: you would have needed it. Words like FREEDOM, LIFE, PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS obviously bear no meaning for you. If Websters cannot help to define these issues for you, I feel quite sure that a better man than yourself, perhaps John Adams, would have been more than happy to fill in the very blank spaces in your trivial little mind.
Yet having no true character, you values would have crumbled at the first sight of a redcoat and wandered off to join him, eventually finding yourself far across the pond from those of us you seem to love to betray. Too bad that we cannot steamboat your sorry carcass there today. The Europhiles, at least, are adapted to smug little traitors who have nothing knew to offer except the latest appeal to Sharia.
The liberal media carefully picks which repubs to put in front of the camera — Lindsey Graham, mcLame, etc.
The conservatives have got to pull the rug from these guys because the liberal media absolutely loves them.
What’s with SC “Graham”? He should not even be in office.
Again? Why do you post this reply on the different threads?
RINOS are liberals.
Yikes, I forgot about this!
