NEW YORK, Nov. 25 (AP) - (Kyodo)—Twenty-four people have developed a side effect known as anaphylaxis from new-flu vaccine in Canada and one of them has died, Canadian health officials said Wednesday.

The fatality was a man in his 80s who was suffering from an underlying disease, the officials said, adding they are investigating a possible linkage between the H1N1 flu vaccine made by GlaxoSmithKline Plc which the man was administered and his death.

I got my H1N1 shot over a week ago...no problems. It seems that people who have health problems also have problems with the shot....I believe they even warn people not to take the shot if they have any other medical conditions. Of course the 80 year old probably didn’t even know he had other problems. His caretaker (if he has one) should have known what was best for him or her.

I got a flu shot 2 maybe 3 years ago and my feet and legs started shaking pretty bad.
2 years later it’s almost gone.
Thank god.

NEVER AGAIN.
Of course my doc scoffed at the idea that it was due to the shot.
He had no other explaination except that it was in my head.
Yea, ok.

I’ll take the flu thank you.

“I got my H1N1 shot over a week ago...no problems.”

Wife and child were vacinated about a month ago with no problems as well.

I’m curious what the actual complication rate is and how it compares to “regular” flu-vaccines. Every vaccine has some % of people who react poorly to it. Anecdotes tug at your heart, but deliver little of actual substance.

anaphylaxis <<<<<<<<<<<

That’s an allergic reaction, and these people may not have reported an egg allergy, or it could be some other factor in the vaccine. I’ve had such a reaction that was severe and very scary to contrast dye during a routine test. Hopefully never again.
