Fox Business gave a platform to James Galbraith, a University of Texas professor, son of Kenneth, and, to put it mildly, a socialist, without warning its listeners. Suart Varney, the interviwer, was almost obsequious. Galbraith said that we shouldn't worry about deficits, that they have a purpose, and that what we really need to be concerned about are the "financial reporting types" who worry about such things and are the real problem.

What makes Fox special is that truly are reasonably balanced. That is why more democrats watch Fox than CNN or MSNBC. You can get more than one view and hence you can also get unbiased news...

Balance is admirable. Listening to an idealogical spin, however, and responding only with thanks for Galbraith’s “erudite views” is, if anything, being an apologist for he left.
