If viruses were going to engage in gene-swapping before escaping from a lab wouldn’t they all have to wear the same size? What are the chances of that? How did such an unlikely event occur?
Also, there’s no mention as to whether they swapped shoes, shirts or other articles of clothing. Wouldn’t they be more likely to be able to travel incognito following their escape if they mixed things up a bit more than simply trading trousers.
And how did these rogue viruses escape in the first place? Stolen key? Rope made of linen? Flying petri dish? An assistant on the “inside’?
All in all, a frustratingly incomplete article; not very helpful at all.
