Looking closely at the districts, I would say there at least 80 seats in the House that could flip; wit Dem seats in Rep leaning districts. Not to mention another 20 in marginal Dem districts

The RNC has to get off their haunches and focus on this. Better late to the party than not at all.

True. What I fear is a return to the Denny Hastert era, where the Republicans run on "The Democrats are even WORSE!" and run with the most liberal Pubbie they can find, then use their majority to slather pork onto their pet buddies. The banking regulations written by Phil Gramm did a lot to get us into this mess, although the Democrat spending has not helped.

A buddy of mine ran against Chet Edwards about ten years ago. He told me he was invited to a bunch of Republican fund raisers, although none of the raised money was sent to him, as the Republicans didn't think he had a chance of winning. He told me at the fund raisers, the contributors flatly told him "You're going to vote for 'this, this, this, and this.'" The legislation was always to funnel funds to their companies or provide them with an advantage over competitors. There was no discussion of political ideology or methods of governing. The contributors were buying votes for legislation that benefitted them.

One of the reasons so many corporations have started going Dem is they're easy to buy.
