This will be nothing more than wishful thinking if we don’t KEEP UP THE PRESSURE! Write, e-mail, phone, and speak to your congress-creature in person. Send letters to the editor, sign petitions, answer polls, volunteer to stuff envelopes, work phone banks. In the words of Teddy Roosevelt, “you must do what you can with what you have where you are.” Defeat is not inevitable, but neither is victory. Be of good cheer, and FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT!

We need to be cautious but guys like Cook are good at noting trends and anticipating what is to come. So for him to see a Republican tide coming is a good thing. Larry Sabato and of course Michael Barone are the other ones to listen to. Right now it looks like ‘10 will be a good year but things can change, and these guys sometimes are wrong. As you say, keep up the pressure and we can help influence the outcome.
